AJANAKU GALLERY is dedicated to the presentation of African sculpture as both form and force, objects shaped through ritual, material discipline, and inherited knowledge systems. Bringing together historic works and contemporary practices, we situate African art within a continuum rather than a category. Each piece carries a lineage yet remains alive to reinterpretation. Set within a renovated New York townhouse, the gallery invites a slower encounter: an environment where scale, texture, and presence can be experienced with clarity and intent.
Our curatorial approach is deliberate and restrained, privileging works that embody both aesthetic rigor and cultural resonance.

LEGACY brings together photographers and writers from around the world to explore this enduring human experience through the dialogue between image and text. Photography captures moments that might otherwise disappear, while words reveal the histories, emotions, and meanings that exist beyond the frame. Together, they create space for reflection, conversation, and remembrance. The exhibition asks a profound yet universal question:
What do we inherit, what do we preserve, and what do we pass on?
The answers are deeply personal. They may be found in family rituals, migration, ancestral knowledge, cultural identity, resistance, faith, love, loss, environmental stewardship, or the traces we leave in the lives of others. Legacy is not measured by wealth or fame, but by the values, memories, and acts of care that continue long after we are gone.

AJANAKU GALLERY opens in Spring 2027 as a refined cultural destination where collectors and tastemakers engage directly with the depth and dynamism of African artistry. Conceived as an intimate townhouse gallery, the space is designed to bring audiences closer to the work transforming viewing into a personal, immersive experience.
Blending the sensibility of a living space with the rigor of a curated showroom, AJANAKU GALLERY functions as both an exhibition platform and a cultural salon. Through private viewings, thoughtfully staged presentations, and artist-led moments, each encounter is intentional, layered, and deeply connected to the narratives behind the work.
Dedicated to showcasing African and diaspora artists, AJANAKU GALLERY will present a rotating program of exhibitions alongside collector events, and cultural programming. More than a place to acquire art, it’s a new community to experience, engage, and participate in the evolving story of African culture.
